The HTS 400, which replaces the HTS 350, is a shorter version of the HTS 800 snare drum relied on by a huge number of today's pipe bands. Overall, the HTS 400 is about 4" shorter than the 800 model. This height difference can make marching easier and more comfortable for youth drummers, but make no mistake; the 400 has the same high-quality construction and results as the larger high tension snare. This drum could be played in competition and by adult and/or more experienced drummers, and it's nice for indoor performances. The shorter shell size means it can be pitched slightly higher, but it can also be tuned to match larger snares in the corps.
